It was given a new purpose in this composition joining a piece of blue linoleum, a fragment of sea glass and a cut-up leaf. There are 5 pieces in this series available on Chairish, as seen in the interior photo.This posting is for one of them only.Assemblage on 7.5″ x 9.5″ watercolor paper, mounted with mat in 15″ x 17.5″ x 2.25″ shadow box.Artist’s statement:In 1997 I visited the Caribbean island Domenica. This mountainous island is known for its rainforests and is often referred to as “The Nature Island of the Caribbean”. During my stay I became fascinated with the detritus I found in the forest, on the beaches and even on the bottom of the ocean. Sometimes left by people and sometimes by nature, I brought these elements together in my collages to imagine a harmony that isn’t always typical.—Poul Lange less
