The son of a distinguished … more Engaged 1991Signed, titled and dated, white floater frame.Arbe Berberyan Russian/Armenian Artist born 1958. The son of a distinguished artist, and Professor of Art & Design, Ara Berberyan (Arbe) earned the praise for his artistic talents as a youth, and by the age of 12 Arbe had his first Exhibition. His paintings were sent by the U.S.S.R. on an International Tour, called “The World by Childrens’ Eyes.” This exhibition visited France, Italy, Canada, and the United States. When Arbe was older he was invited to matriculate into the University of Art & Design in Yerevan, Armenia. Although it was complicated to find books from the west, Arbe managed to attain and study those of the artists he appreciated most: Dali, Picasso, Titian, Rembrandt, and Klimt. As a scholar of art & design books on Klimt particularly motivated him. He earned his Masters Degree in 1981 and quickly began his career as a fine artist by accommodating government commissions for murals at the Yerevan Airport, theaters, hotels, and other government projects. Arbe’s subjects became the beauty surrounding him instruments (mainly violins and guitars), women, and classical and modern fusions regarding romantic dramas, love, and music. He paints in oil with a metallic texture, and occasionally gold leaf. His paintings are filled with earth tones, enticing patterns, and designs.In 1984, Arbe joined his sister in Los Angeles, immigrating to the United States. Here he met and married his wife Nazik, also from Armenia, and they had two children. less
