The Back is decorated with jade medallions inlaid with gold and encrusted with rubies and emeralds; the jade handle is similarly decorated. Ottoman, 16-th-17th century. Length, 19.25″. Treasury Of Topkapu Palace Museum, Istanbul. The photogravure comes from a rare art folio published in Switzerland in the 1940s. Gold foil overlay. Printed on one side.
