A French walnut marquetry inlaid side table in the style of Louis XVI that opens to become a game table. The marquetry design is a complex geometric diamond pattern which is prominently featured on the top of the table and on all 4 sides. Several woods were used in this piece including walnut, palisander, and satinwood. The table is magnificently decorated with gilt bronze ormolu depicting a bust on four corners of the frame. Legs and apron are trimmed in fine metal rope work with the feet trimmed with ornate bronze ormolu. It is very sturdy. The previous owner used this as a fabulous side accent table with a lamp. less
